The Southern Nevada Chapter of NevAEYC serves individuals working in early childhood education in the Las Vegas/Clark County area. They sponsor educational events, advocacy activities, special events such as the annual ECE Awards Night, and have regular membership meetings.
The NevAEYC Northwest Committee is always seeking nominations to fill open positions or future positions. Nominees should be current or potential members who are passionate about children and family issues in Nevada and must be able to commit the time necessary to achieve progress on our organizational goals and mission. Elections will be held in November with new members beginning a 2-year term in January. The Southern Nevada Chapter invited leaders and emerging leaders from the early childhood community to join us for a four session series on leadership. Each session included 4 hours of NV Registry approved trainings for a total of 16 credit hours, and lunch. In addition, each participant received a swag bag of goodies and a copy of the book, Monday Morning Leadership by David Cotrell which used throughout the year to support the training content. Another perk of this cohort is FREE admission to the Southern Chapter NevAEYC ECE Leadership Day in February. Details for this event were sent via email blast.

The Week of the Young Child® is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The purpose of the Week of the Young Child® is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs
In April of 2022 & 2023, our Chapter held a Family Fun day at the East Las Vegas Library. Both years were extremely successful and fun! This year’s event will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at the College of Southern Nevada West Charleston Campus..

Each year The Southern Nevada Chapter celebrates our field of professionals with a recognition dinner & appreciation banquet! It is always a night of fun and recognition that usually includes some pretty awesome door prizes.
The 2018 & 2019 appreciation banquets were held at the Eastside Cannery Casino & Hotel. The 2023 appreciation banquet was held at the College of Southern Nevada. All three events were fantastic! It was great to hear about all of the wonderful EC professionals in our community and celebrate their success with them! Unfortunately, we were unable to hold this event in 2024 but we are looking at other ways to show our appreciation for our hard-working Early Childhood Community!
